Making a difference: Slow Fashion

What we do is who we are, from the smallest of decisions to life changing choices. Everything we do is an extension of who we are consciously or unconsciously. You may not notice but you leave marks wherever you go and with whatever you do. Our expressions are all around us as an abstract form of  language, indicating your ideas, behaviors, way of living and how you impact the world around you. From  the process of manufacturing a car you drive. To the way you walk. What you wear. To the type of food you choose to eat. Everything we do leaves a mark whether pretty or destructive.  This is where the concept of slow fashion can change the whole perspective of modern  lifestyle.   Most of us go on everyday with countless thoughts and distractions from what's really important because of the on goings and influence of the fast moving modernized world. Never really leaving time to think things through.  Starting with purchasing massively  produced easily accessible goods to the need to get a new fast car or to buy the newest latest fashion without really thinking if you really need it and what all it really cost, and it doesn't cost just your money. If you knew you could, would you choose to make a positive or negative impact? What is Slow Fashion? It's not only limited to preventing physical damage to the environment. It's also about seeing the bigger picture, thinking before you buy, about respecting people and surroundings, slowing down negative consumption to promote positive consumption. Its about advancing your consciousness.  Slow fashion is essientially a fashion trend, a taste, or style. It's style's are typically modern and focus on comfort, while some showing artisan's influences.By choosing slow fashion you are promoting positivity.Slow fashion is a steady eco-friendly movement focused on incorporating eco-friendly methods to produce quality garments. It tries to produce massively, but safely to compete with fast fashion. While supporting local made eco-friendly materials and handicrafts from all over the world. Why are we going to PAUSE

Nowadays a lot of us seem to race against time, we might be swiping our phones left and right, scowling up and down while aimlessly trying to climb the corporate ladder, we feel a sense of urgency to not fall behind. But in the process of all these chasing and running,  what would remind us to stop, and not loose touch with our peaceful state of mind? We can not afford to sacrifice the soft spoken inner whisper by our bodies, and let the loud, and often brain-washed rants of our noisy minds. Are you guilty of ignoring your feelings and intuitions...

We all know now that Fast Fashion and Fast food isn’t good for us or our world, but some of us do not know how to make that switch. Here are some tips to help you being addicted to mass-media, mass production.1.Feeding your vanity doesn’t give you long lasting happiness.Anti-Brainwashing FashionJust like junk food without real nutrition, buying a piece of garment that is not made of care and love; from birth to finish will result in a “incomplete” sensation or emotion.According to modern neurology, our awareness is in every cell of our body.So we believe if you wear ethically sourced, organic garment, you’d have a longer and more complete sensation of wellness and beauty! Beyond what the eyes can detect. We want people to experience true love that is wholesome.Let’s admire ourselves and build a lasting, sustainable connection to the world around us.2. If you are addicted to buying cloth for quick fixes and feeling guilty:Our subconscious doesn’t know the difference between reality and TV images, It is easy to be brain washed and then it auto-plays and we make impulsive buying decisions. Mindfulness training will help you clear your mind and hear your own inner voice. The benefit? You’d feel much more creative and confident! We don’t blame you for feeling confused or brain-washed by media. After all we live in a world of contradictions. As designers for a long time we weren’t sure if buying H&M was really that evil or not.Who doesn’t want to be accepted, belong, loved, and admired? And if fast fashion serves these dreams for cheap, and brainwash us that we’ll get real friendship and love? No wonder they can succeed in the market. But we all know how that doesn’t last. At the end of the day only true love for ourselves and our world will grant us true happiness.3. Build awareness to fight being mindless in our consumption.Akasha Yoga AcademyIf you are not already into meditation or yoga, we suggest that you do. Great way to really find our own inner voice. Our Harem pants are so comfy for both! Click hereOur body and mind is connected, so if you fix one, you’ll effect the other. There are lots of meditation and yoga centers all over Thailand. Eco-cotton, locally sourced, fabulously designed

Our fabrics are ethically and sustainably sourced from Chiang Mai. Our first collection is with Cotton, for our coming collections we will exclusively use only natural fibers, such as cotton, linen, silk, and hemp, which require fewer resources to produce, create less pollution, and decompose back into the earth much more quicker than synthetic fibers like polyester and nylon. We hope to work towards using certified fabrics  with every collection. Our first “Weight-less Eco Collection” uses some handloom fabrics: spun and woven by hand locally, they utilize an age-old process that preserves traditional crafts, creates well-paying jobs in rural areas, and that is  not to mention just how unique, soft and beautiful the fabric itself is.Weightless Eco Collection uses some handloom fabrics: spun and woven by hand...

Eco leather inspired by Lanna culture

Eco-Smart material: Vegan Leather We are proud to present you our eco-leather bags, unlike the other vegan leather in the market which derives from petroleum, our bags are 100% biodegradable! Very often innovation comes from observing how people coexist with nature. And here in Northern Thailand there’s no shortage of such wisdom. The material we use for our eco bag is revolutionary: Watch our video: [embed]https://vimeo.com/225983692[/embed] Eco Vegan Leather made of Leaves! from Elpis Studio on Vimeo. Tong Tung (teak) is a perennial plant in Northern Thailand. The leaves are known for their toughness and durability. Thais used them as roofing materials that would last up to 5 years! Elpis is committed to minimizing the negative impact the mainstream fashion industry has on our planet. We believe in slow fashion, sourcing local materials, and transparent supply chains. The leaf material we use in our collection comes from an age-olded knowledge of its property, and the locals adapted the usage to keep up with the modern time. And in purchasing from us we will continue to support the local community in aiding them to further establish this wonderful new eco material. We aim to provide continuous design support and feedback for our supplier. We value the people involved at every stage of the production process. Please support us in caring for the cleanliness of our environment as well as our mind. Buy fewer and better. Enter your text here...
